SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR

**Location:** Primarily remote but may need to meet at our St. Hubert location for meetings.
**Contract Duration:** 12 weeks (Summer 2025)
**Hours:** 35 hours per week
**Compensation:** $17/hr
**Eligibility:** Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment and                                             legally entitled to work in Canada.

​**Position Summary:**

The Special Events Coordinator will play a key role in planning, and preparing the promotional materials for Phoenix's annual Community Events (Streetfest, Halloween-Trick or Treat Trail, Easter Scavenger hunt. . This also includes helping to plan workshops and/or activities for the Community Corner, Silver Fox (Seniors) and Community Lunch Program. The Special events Coordinator will also help stream line Phoenix's communication strategy by compiling contact lists for our partners, participants and identifying additional avenues of promotion.

 **Key Responsibilities:**

    * Assist in the planning and execution of summer events, including Street-Fest, Family Fun Nights, and                children's summer programs.
    * Coordinate logistics such as scheduling, venue setup, equipment rental, and supply management.
    * Develop promotional materials (flyers, social media content, event signage) and assist with                                community outreach.
    * Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for various events.
    * Liaise with vendors, entertainers, and partner organizations.
    * Ensure events meet safety and accessibility standards.
    * Evaluate events and provide a final report with recommendations for future programming.

 

**Qualifications:**

     * Passion for community development and working with diverse populations.
     * Strong organizational and time management skills.
     * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
     * Creative problem-solver who is flexible and adaptable.
     * Experience in event planning, marketing, or community engagement is an asset.
     * Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not required.
     * Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
