COMMUNITY RECREATION COORDINATOR

**Location:** Primarily remotely except for weekly meeting

**Position Type:** Full time with flexibility in schedule

**Salary:**   $17/hour

We are seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded **Community Recreation Coordinator** to plan and deliver engaging programming for seniors, families, and children. Working closely with staff and volunteers, the Coordinator will develop weekly activities for the fall and winter program season,and promote events through various communication channels.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Senior Programs:**

• Plan and coordinate a weekly recreation program for seniors, based on their interests and needs

• Develop and facilitate workshops and special activities for the Community Lunch program

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants

 

* **Youth & Family Programs:**

• Collaborate with the Youth Program Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities for Kids Club

• Assist with seasonal family events and intergenerational programming

 

* **Communications & Promotion:**

• Design promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and newsletters

• Create and schedule engaging social media content to promote programs and events

• Help maintain an active and informative presence across communication channels

 

• • Experience in community programming, recreation, or a related field

  • Strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with both seniors and children is an asset

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design (e.g., Canva or similar tools)

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

  • CPR/First Aid certification is an asset

  • This position is funded but Canadian Summer Youth Employment grants and must between the ages of 18-30
